A Realistic Spring Cleaning Checklist

21 July 2026 • 5 min read • Premier Cleaners, Plymouth

Spring cleaning fails when it is planned as one enormous day. Split into four smaller sessions, each with a clear finish line, it is genuinely achievable — and you can see progress as you go.

Weekend one: kitchen

The kitchen carries the most build-up, so it goes first while your motivation is highest.

  • Empty and wipe cupboards, checking dates as you go
  • Fridge shelves, drawers and seals
  • Inside the oven, racks and door glass
  • Extractor filter, and the wall behind the hob
  • Bin, floor edges and the gap beside the appliances

Weekend two: bathrooms

Treat the scale first and let the products work while you do everything else in the room.

  • Descale taps, shower head, screen and tiles
  • Grout, sealant lines and plugholes
  • Cabinet contents cleared out and shelves wiped
  • Extractor fan cover and light fitting
  • Floor edges and behind the toilet

Weekend three: bedrooms and living spaces

This is the session where the house starts to feel noticeably lighter.

  • Wash or air bedding, including pillows where the label allows
  • Move furniture and vacuum underneath
  • Skirtings, door frames and light switches
  • Windows inside, including frames and sills
  • Wardrobes sorted, with a bag set aside for donation

Weekend four: the finish, or the bit to hand over

The last session is usually carpets, upholstery, high ledges and anything that needs equipment. Plenty of customers do the first three weekends themselves and book us for this one — it is the part that benefits most from professional kit and a written checklist.
